I strive to provide meaningful support through purposeful collaborations. Below, you will find examples of my work with partners to date.
Kihew Consulting and Research
As an Associate with the Kihew Consulting team, I provide intergovernmental and economic development policy advice to support this Indigenous organization as they work with private and public organizations across Canada.
Indigenous Economic Council (IEC)
As drafter and policy advisor to the IEC, a coalition of national Indigenous economic organizations including FNFMB, NACCA, FNFA, and CCIB, I translated economic priorities identified by First Nations communities across the country into a suite of costed policy proposals, spanning access to capital, business supports, institutional capacity, and data sovereignty. This work gave the IEC a credible, evidence-based platform for engaging federal decision-makers on a shared path forward.
Office of the Grocery Sector Code of Conduct (OGSCC)
As part-time Deputy Director of the OGSCC, I lead the development of policies that underpin the Office's implementation of the Canada Grocery Code. This work has included leading the development of the Dispute Resolution Management Process and chairing the Fruits and Vegetables Primary Producer Liaison Group, working with national, provincial, and international grower associations to identify systemic issues facing produce suppliers.
Métis National Council (MNC)
I facilitated a multi-day workshop with Métis governing members and developed a concise report setting out the Métis Nation's objectives for the advancement of Métis economic development.
Prairies Economic Development Canada
I developed fact-based policy papers and a placemat to support the organization's priorities in advancing economic Reconciliation in the Prairie provinces, with a focus on the barriers facing Indigenous entrepreneurs in accessing capital.
North 35 Capital Partners
I researched provincial and federal government programs in the area of Indigenous economic development and prepared a comprehensive strategic guide describing how to access this menu of programs. In addition, I researched a specific policy question related to lending institutions in Canada that cater to Indigenous business clients and drafted a summary report of my findings and policy recommendations.
Indigenous Services Canada (ISC)
I provided in-depth research and analysis on substantive equality and reconciliation, delivering a series of papers to support program and service amelioration. In addition, I supported the development of Departmental policies on Indigenous economic development such as a companion guidance to support First Nations in implementing federal policy frameworks within their communities.
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)
I researched Canadian and international government practices with respect to wildland firefighter training, with a focus on the involvement of Indigenous communities in wildfire management. I drafted a report describing the challenges in the Canadian context and policy trends to support government in its policy objectives for wildfire management.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)
I provided drafting and advisory services for a suite of departmental real property frameworks, including those addressing Indigenous engagement.
National Association of Aboriginal Capital Corporations (NACCA)
I have worked consistently with NACCA since 2022, developing policy and communication products to advance their public policy objectives in Indigenous economic development. This has included drafting NACCA's parliamentary submissions for the federal Budget cycle and playing a key policy and drafting role in securing NACCA's 10-year contribution agreement, along with other funding proposals that directly contributed to securing program funding for NACCA's priority initiatives.
Alto High Speed Rail
I delivered analysis and advice on Indigenous economic participation and engagement practices. Drawing on lessons from major projects across the country, my work informed strategies to ensure Indigenous communities will meaningfully participate in and benefit from this linear infrastructure project.
